I'm a trans-disciplinary Design practitioner, researcher and lecturer based in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. I have worked on projects within education, interactive media, public experiences, multi-media story telling, exhibition galleries, batch fabrication, mass manufacturing, agriculture, household products, medical hardware, social safety, entertainment & luxury. After 12 years of general practice, I'm now focused on mixed-media interactive experiences/workshops for public knowledge transfer and a bridge between the cyber and analogue. I'm a part time researcher and lecturer of Industrial Design at the University of Johannesburg. In the background, I continue to develop off-grid appropriate technologies related to resource reclamation, soon to be published as open-source resources. Naturally passionate and dedicated to any design task at hand, I believe design is not a narrow application of formal skills but a way of thinking and that it should be used to co-create innovative, sustainable and pluriversal solutions. I take the pragmatic approach of empathising & uncovering the problem truths before ideating and creating.
I'm proficient in the following programs:
Solidworks '20, Keyshot 9, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, Photoshop CC, Sketchbook Pro, MS Office
